La nostra corsa inizia da Pierrefitte-Nestelas, i primi chilometri in pianura per raggiungere Argeles-Gazost ci aiutano a prendere il giusto ritmo.

Hautacam è una salita molto difficile (anche Contador ha detto così), con pendenze spesso variabili che rendono difficile mantenere il ritmo, ci sono rampe fino al 13% e alcuni lunghi tratti al 13%. La parte più difficile è il km 6, dopo il villaggio di Artalens. La salita si addolcisce per gli ultimi 2 km prima di Hautacam. A Hautacam c'è un ampio parcheggio piatto per la stazione sciistica. Qui è dove il Tour de France pone il palcoscenico di fine tappa. La tappa 18 del Tour de France 2014 è stato il quinto arrivo. Vincenzo Nibali ha vinto nel 2014 dominando la tappa estendendo il suo vantaggio in giallo ad oltre 7 minuti.

Our videorace begins at Pierrefitte-Nestelas. The first flat kilometers to reach Argeles-Gazost help us take the right rhythm.

Hautacam is a very difficult climb (even Contador said so), it undulates frequently making it hard to maintain a rhythm, there are ramps up to 13% and some long sections up to 13%. The hardest part is the 6km after the village of Artalens. The climb eases off for the last 2 km before Hautacam. At Hautacam there is a large flat car-park for the ski station. This is where Le Tour de France has it’s stage finish, Stage 18 of the 2014 Tour de France was the 5th arrival. Vincenzo Nibali won in 2014 with a very dominant display which seem him extend his lead in yellow to over 7 minutes.
